Kung C. Yeh
(BSEE '53)
Kung Yeh (BSEE ’53) is an emeritus professor of electrical engineering
at the U of I. He recently returned to Champaign after four years at the National
Sun Yat-Sen University in Taiwan, serving as dean of engineering, then as chair
professor of the Electrical Engineering Department, which he helped establish
in 1981. During his 30-year tenure at U of I, Yeh pioneered the development of
radio beacon techniques for studying ionospheric structures. He is internationally
recognized for his research in ionospheric and atmospheric physics.
