Get involved
We hear all the time from alumni who tell us that ECE ILLINOIS has helped shape their lives both personally and professionally. And many tell us that they’d like to find ways to give back to the department.
Support
Many of our alumni give back to the department through monetary or in-kind gifts. Find out more on at our Donating to ECE page, or by contacting Beth Katsinas, Director of Advancement at (217) 265-6285 or by e-mail at katsinas@illinois.edu.
Alumni Volunteers
Our students greatly value the opportunity to meet and interact with our alumni. Here are some ways to get involved.
- Alumni-student events
Every year during Engineering Open House the department hosts the Alumni-Student Reception on campus (usually the second Friday of March). This event provides an excellent opportunity to talk with current students and network with fellow alumni, too. All ECE ILLINOIS alumni are welcome. - Freshman calling program
Each summer, alumni volunteers phone admitted ECE students welcoming them to the department. If you like to talk on the phone and answer questions, then this volunteer option might be for you. Young alumni are especially in need. - Outreach opportunities
Want to help spark an interest in electrical and computer engineering in those students who excel in math and science? You can visit your local schools (K-12) to promote engineering to today’s youths.
Contact sheier@illinois.edu for more information regarding these opportunities.
