Abstract: 
This talk will provide an overview of research and development for autonomous systems at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab and show how machine learning, robotics and applied neuroscience are being advanced to help address our nation’s most critical challenges.

Bio:
Mr. Llorens leads research and development activities in machine learning, robotics and applied neuroscience at APL. Since joining the Lab in 2003, Mr. Llorens has led technical teams in applying machine learning to advance capabilities for the U.S. Armed Services and has served as advisor to the Defense Science Board. Mr. Llorens is a voting member of the Grammys and his music has been featured in films and on TV. Mr. Llorens was awarded a Master’s of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
