Support students through the
Engineering Visionary Scholarship Initiative. It will raise a $100 million endowment to bring the nation's best students to the College of Engineering and ECE ILLINOIS by making college more affordable.
New ECE Building Fund $
The New ECE Building Fund supports the
Building Campaign for ECE ILLINOIS. The campaign is allowing private and corporate donors to provide half the funding for the $95 million ECE Building project, where countless students will earn a world-class education and faculty are conducting research that continues to solve society’s greatest challenges.
ECE Trust Fund $
The ECE Trust fund supports a wide variety of departmental needs, such as student travel to conferences, independent study research, and much more.
ECE Alumni Association Scholarship $
The ECE Alumni Scholarship is presented annually to an ECE ILLINOIS student who has a financial need and shows a good academic record.
George Anner Endowed Fund $
This fund honors the memory of Professor George Anner and his nearly three decades of service to ECE ILLINOIS.
Chuang Memorial Fund $
The ECE Department, with the help of Lolita Chuang, has established the Professor Shun-Lien Chuang Memorial Fund for Excellence in Graduate Education. This fund recognizes outstanding ECE graduate students each year who exemplify Professor Chuang’s work ethic and passion for people.
Milton Feng Scholarship in ECE $
This scholarship honors Dr. Milton Feng, who with Nick Holonkyak Jr. invented the first transistor laser and demonstrated with oxide VCSELs the fastest U.S. transmission of error-free data over fiber-optic networks.
William L. Everitt Distinguished Professorship-ECE $
This fund honors the memory of one of engineering’s most distinguished educators, as well as a former department head of ECE ILLINOIS and dean of the College of Engineering.
Helm Fund for Excellence in Power $
This fund honors the memory and achievements of M. Stanley Helm through a scholarship presented to an undergraduate with a strong potential for leadership in the area of electric power engineering.
Nick Holonyak Jr. Endowed Chair $
The Nick Holonyak Jr. Chair was established to honor Nick Holonyak Jr. (BSEE ’50, MSEE ’51, PhD ’54), one of the department's most prominent faculty members and alumni.
Nick Holonyak Jr. Graduate Student Award Fund $
The Nick and Katherine Holonyak Jr. Graduate Student Award recognizes a doctoral student in the semiconductor optoelectronics and high-speed microelectronics area.
Integrated Circuit Lab $
This fund provides support for the undergraduate Fabrication Laboratory and ECE 444, IC Device Theory and Fabrication.
Jack S. Kilby ECE Endowment Fund $
This fund honors the memory and achievements of Jack S. Kilby (BSEE ’47), who received the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physics for his invention of the integrated circuit.
Yuen T. Lo Endowed Chair in ECE Fund $
This fund honors the memory and achievements of Y.T. Lo. Among his many innovations were the broadband television receiving antenna.
Emma L. Marshall Scholarship Fund $
This scholarship was established by in honor of Emma Marshall, a long-time employee of ECE ILLINOIS.
Student-Alumni Relations Fund $
This fund supports ECE Alumni Association events and programs that impact students’ intellectual and professional development.
Timothy N. Trick Leadership Award $
This fund and award recognizes Dr. Timothy Trick's leadership of ECE ILLINOIS from 1985 to 1995, when he served as department head. The award is given annually to a student in recognition of good scholarship and demonstrated ability as a future leader of people.
M.E. Van Valkenburg Graduate Research Award $
Named in honor of a former ECE faculty member and dean of the College of Engineering, this fund provides a fellowship to outstanding PhD candidates.
Kung Chie Yeh Memorial Endowment Fund $
This fund honors the memory of K.C. Yeh with a scholarship given to a student who excels in both academics and outside activities.
Michael E. Napier Memorial Award Fund $
This award was established as a memorial for Michael Edward Napier, a January 1993 graduate of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
