Among the many ECE alums who are leading the tech surge in Chicago, two have been named to Crain's Chicago Business 2016 #TECH50. Crain's Tech 50 highlights the founders, CEOs, and innovators changing the direction of tech in the Windy City.

This year's #TECH50 includes ECE alumnus Greg Goff (BSEE '93, far left) who joined Chicago-based Uptake as its chief product officer.

Greg Goff is an integral part of Uptake, a fast-moving, headline-grabbing startup combining the internet of things and Big Data to help companies reinvent their businesses. Uptake recently took home two Moxie awards recognizing digital innovation in Chicago, and last month Goff helped host a networking event for ECE and CS @ ILLINOIS alumni.

Google software engineer Matt Hansen (BSEE '06, BS Mathematics '06, MS '08) made the #TECH50 list this year.
