In that role, she worked to engage alumni, helping them to support the department though gifts of their talent, time, and resources. She’ll continue to do so in her new position, with a focus on the more than 21,000 living ECE ILLINOIS alums.

“I’m looking forward to meeting ECE’s outstanding alumni and hearing about their experiences on campus,” Winter said, adding that she’s also eager to hear about how their educations have served them as they work as engineers, startup founders, and a wide array of other career paths. “I want to hear what an education at Illinois has meant to them.”

Winter is an Illinois alumna herself, having graduated from the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. She comes from a family of engineers, and her father, aunt and several uncles are all Engineering at Illinois alums. She especially enjoys sitting down with alumni and listening to their stories about ECE ILLINOIS.

“I can only imagine what stories I’ll hear next,” Winter said.

Steven A George, ECE’s senior director advancement, said he’s excited about the addition of Winter to the department’s advancement staff.

“We are so pleased to have Allison join our staff, and I know she will do a tremendous job to serve the needs of our alumni,” George said.

ECE Department Head William H Sanders said her history of working within Engineering at Illinois gives her a strong understanding of what the program stands for.

“I know Allison will immediately begin to connect with ECE ILLINOIS alumni and friends, and she will be an asset to our department,” Sanders said.

Allison can be reached by email or by calling (217) 244-8307.
