Introduction

The Ballard Seminars in Emerging Technology are designed to enrich the intellectual life of the ECE department. The series brings leading early-career scholars to campus to share cutting-edge research and engage with students, faculty, and alumni. These interactions cultivate meaningful professional relationships, spark interdisciplinary collaboration, and introduce new ideas that influence both research and curriculum.

The series was established in 2026 through a gift from DeAnna Ballard (BSEE '89) and Gregg Steinhauser.
